Avatar MGA Ltd (“Avatar”) has today announced the appointment of Jenna Contreras as its US head of distribution.
Reporting to Adrian Williams, chief operating officer and Clare Bailey, head of property underwriting, Jenna will provide the London team with market insights and support based on her extensive experience of the US excess and surplus lines wholesale property market. She will reinforce Avatar’s London Market credentials with local wholesale brokers and encourage the flow of mid-market business to London.
Bailey said, “We are delighted to welcome Jenna to the team. She will be working closely with me to deliver Avatar’s underwriting plan for non-habitational property risks with total insured values between USD20m and USD1.5bn and her insights will be invaluable.”
Contreras joins Avatar with ten years of experience in the US insurance market. Most recently, she was portfolio solutions leader for North America at Allianz Commercial and sits on the board of Young Risk Professionals. Prior to this, she has held roles at Risk Placement Services, Prime Insurance Company and SIS Wholesale Insurance Services.
