He is currently Head of Resilience at Manchester Airport, having joined in 2017 as Emergency Planning and Resilience Manager. Prior to that, Susca has held senior risk managerial roles at Jet2.com, Security and Risk Organisation, Eastern Airways and ExecuJet Aviation Group.
Cranfield University’s Andrew Silke, Professor of Terrorism, Risk and Resilience, commented: “Our course centres on the core knowledge of terrorism risk management which mirrors the needs of the industry and our research interest. It is great to have the support of Pool Re in our programme. Mark is a very strong candidate and we look forward to having more professionals like him joining this course and making changes to the industry.”
Pool Re’s Chief Resilience Officer, Ed Butler said: “Cranfield University has been a strategic partner of ours in supporting Pool Re’s objectives in improving the resilience of the UK to terrorism risk. The Pool Re Scholarship is another way for us to facilitate and be part of the evolution of the terrorism insurance industry. This new specialist course offers students the expertise and tools to understand, assess and mitigate terrorism risk, mirroring the three pillars of Pool Re SOLUTIONS – risk awareness, risk modelling and risk management. We wish Mark a fruitful time at Cranfield.”
