Pool Re inaugural Scholarship for the MSc Counterterrorism Risk Management & Resilience awarded to Mark Susca 150 150 Haggie Partners

Pool Re, Britain’s leading terrorism reinsurer, recently announced the launch of its scholarships for UK students undertaking the MSc in Counterterrorism, Risk Management and Resilience at Cranfield University. The scholarship is available for up to five students and the first has been awarded to Mark Susca, Head of Resilience at Manchester Airport.

The MSc course is designed for professionals focusing on terrorism risk management and protective security, offering students evidence-based methodological tools and extensive insight into the prevention and mitigation of terrorism risk.
Susca has more than 14 years’ experience in risk management in the aviation industry. He is currently Head of Resilience at Manchester Airport, having joined in 2017 as Emergency Planning and Resilience Manager. Prior to that, Susca has held senior risk managerial roles at Jet2.com, Security and Risk Organisation, Eastern Airways and ExecuJet Aviation Group.

Cranfield University’s Andrew Silke, Professor of Terrorism, Risk and Resilience, commented: “Our course centres on the core knowledge of terrorism risk management which mirrors the needs of the industry and our research interest. It is great to have the support of Pool Re in our programme. Mark is a very strong candidate and we look forward to having more professionals like him joining this course and making changes to the industry.”
