Lions Gate Underwriting (LGU), an independent underwriting agency and Lloyd’s coverholder, today announces the appointment of Robbin Botnick as managing director and head of corporate development. Based in Toronto, Botnick will report to Brian Gomes, president of LGU Canada.
Joining from Excess Underwriting where she was chief operating officer, Botnick is a highly respected insurance executive and brings more than 25 years of experience to the role. Prior to this, she was Managing Director at Linx Underwriting Solutions, a subsidiary of Aon Canada.
In her previous roles, she has successfully grown both broker-owned in-house insurance MGAs and private MGAs, specialising in commercial and personal lines of business, into profitable organisations with efficient operations. As managing director and head of corporate development, Botnick will use her knowledge of Lloyd’s and the Canadian domestic market to expand LGU’s footprint across Canada.
