CEO Johnny McCord Calls for Unified Freight & Insurance Industry Support for the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act of 2025 Amid Escalating Digital Threat.
Loadsure, a fast-growing insurtech and provider of Holistic Freight Protection for shippers, freight brokers, insurance agents, and motor carriers, today announced its full support behind the proposed Combating Organized Retail Crime Act of 2025.
The bipartisan Combating Organized Retail Crime Act of 202 (CORCA), recently introduced in both the Senate and House, seeks to establish a coordinated federal response to the escalating crisis of organized retail crime and supply chain theft. The legislation will empower the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to enhance investigations and collaboration, tackling illicit trading practices that cost the U.S. economy tens of billions of dollars annually and challenge the transportation industry. A fact evidenced by a 2024 Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) survey in which two-thirds of retailers said they had experienced increased cargo theft in the previous two years.
Support for CORCA has been announced by a number of large retailers, transportation companies, and industry associations including The Hope Depot, Walmart, Target, UPS, the American Trucking Association (ATA), the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) and many others.
“This is vital legislation with significant ramifications for our industry,” stated Johnny McCord, Founder and CEO of Loadsure. “We firmly believe this bipartisan act will fortify the freight industry against critical threats to its integrity. The enhanced federal enforcement powers it provides will serve as a powerful deterrent, resulting in greater protection for businesses, the supply chain, and ultimately, the American consumer. For Loadsure, this is fundamental to our commitment to lowering claim severity and fostering more affordable, sustainable insurance solutions for the U.S. freight community.”
“We strongly urge our peers in the broader freight and insurance industry to stand united and support this critical legislation,” added McCord. “These pervasive theft issues have plagued our industry for far too long, and CORCA offers a path forward.”
Loadsure’s support for the Act underscores the growing industry momentum behind initiatives aimed at enhancing security, accountability, and resilience across the supply chain. As a provider of holistic freight protection, Loadsure champions these efforts to foster a more secure and predictable environment for businesses and consumers alike.
