Globe Underwriting launches PI proposition as part of new Financial Lines expansion 150 150 Haggie Partners

Globe Underwriting, the UK based managing general agent, today announces the appointments of Paul Nolan as head of financial lines and Kiran Wignall as underwriting manager, professional indemnity, effective immediately.

These hires mark a significant step in Globe’s expansion into the financial lines market and the launch of its first professional indemnity (PI) proposition.

Nolan will be responsible for leading overall underwriting strategy and portfolio management across financial lines, starting with the launch of the PI proposition and capacity in July. He will also focus on developing teams across other key product areas within the division, including management liability and financial institutions.

Wignall will be responsible for the underwriting strategy, growth and profitability of the PI book, and supporting the build out of the wider PI team.

Nolan brings more than 20 years of London market underwriting experience, having held senior roles at AIG, AGCS, and most recently at Probitas Syndicate 1492, where he served as head of financial lines. At Probitas, he built a high-performing team and managed a diversified portfolio with a combined GWP of approximately £80 million. His market leadership, and proven track record in growing profitable books, position him ideally to drive Globe’s financial lines growth strategy.

Wignall joins from Probitas Syndicate 1492, where he served as head of PI. He has 12 years of specialist underwriting experience, having previously held roles at AGCS and Hiscox. His appointment reflects Globe’s dedication to delivering expert-led, service-driven underwriting solutions, tailored to meet the evolving needs of brokers and clients.

Nolan said: “Globe is at a dynamic stage in its growth, and the opportunity to build a new financial lines division from the ground up is an incredibly appealing one. Being able to shape the strategy, recruit top talent, and work within such a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment with a clear mandate for growth is extremely compelling. I’m looking forward to building a strong, collaborative underwriting culture and getting our initial professional indemnity team fully operational.”
