Agile celebrates one year of Syndicate 2427 with strong performance and momentum 150 150 Haggie Partners

One year on from launching Agile Underwriting Services Syndicate 2427 (AUS 2427) under Lloyd’s ‘syndicate-in-a-box’ framework, Agile is proud to mark a successful first year of account, with strong underwriting performance, expanded product lines, and growing broker engagement across the globe through new service companies.

Having commenced underwriting in May 2024, Syndicate 2427 has delivered on its founding vision: to bring digitally-enabled, regionally rooted underwriting to the Lloyd’s market. Agile is forecasting strong utilisation for the 2024 Year of Account, demonstrating market appetite and disciplined growth across its SME and mid-market focus areas. Syndicate 2427 is managed by Davies-owned Asta.

“We launched Syndicate 2427 with a bold goal — to extend Agile’s capability globally, without losing the agility and focus that got us here,” said Robin Barham, CEO and co-founder of Agile. “A year in, that vision is working. We’re underwriting with purpose, growing responsibly, and building a platform that reflects the future of insurance.”

With senior class underwriters based in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, the syndicate leverages Agile’s existing infrastructure and local knowledge to support international capacity in a way that’s relevant, responsive, and scalable.

Syndicate highlights:

  • Expansion into property and marine
  • Property book developing well, built by an experienced team with a clear strategy to avoid NAT CAT exposure
  • A growing pipeline for H2 2025 and FY 2026
  • Continued emphasis on SME and mid-market segments, where Agile sees stronger returns and broker demand
  • Conversion of foundation MGA entity (Agile Australia) into Lloyd’s Syndicate Service Company
  • Launch of new service companies in UK and New Zealand (the first of its kind in that country)

“We’ve built solid momentum. What started as a relatively modest syndicate-in-a-box now feels like a true engine of growth,” said Mark Hunt, active underwriter of Syndicate 2427. “Our focus remains on underwriting smartly, growing sustainably, and delivering solutions brokers can count on.”

Syndicate 2427 has given Agile access to new territories, long-term capital backing, and a broader product scope — while staying anchored to the company’s digital foundations and SME focus. The platform has already enhanced Agile’s binder capability and enabled strategic expansion into underserved markets across the APAC region.

Planning is underway for the 2026 year of account. Agile will continue leveraging its tech-first approach and people-led underwriting to maintain momentum.
