Insurance Advisory Partners, the insurance focused boutique investment banking firm, today announces the appointment of Benjamin James as Partner in the firm’s London office, effective end of June.
James will be responsible for supporting the ongoing expansion of Insurance Advisory Partners operations across the UK and Europe, working closely with existing IAP Partners Bhaven Pathak (Partner, Head of UK & Europe) and Clive Buesnel (Managing Partner, International).
With over a decade of experience in investment banking and private equity, James has a strong track record of advising on and investing in financial services deals, bringing deep expertise in providing strategic, M&A, and capital raising advice to the global insurance, insurance services and insurtech industry.
Prior to joining IAP, he held the role of Investment & Advisory Director at Vemi Capital, before which he was a Vice President at Financial Services Capital. He previously worked at Fenchurch Advisory Partners LLP where he advised on numerous insurance-related transactions totalling over £12bn in deal value. His extensive experience encompasses the full spectrum of strategic and corporate finance advice, having worked on some of the most notable and complex transactions in the insurance sector. James started his career at Deloitte where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
