LIBERTY COMPLETES ASIA PACIFIC LICENCE CONSOLIDATION AND SIMPLIFIES BRAND ACROSS REGION 150 150 Haggie Partners

Liberty International Insurance, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, today announces the completion of its Asia Pacific licence consolidation and the simplification of its brand to “Liberty” across key markets in the region.

The transformation marks a pivotal milestone for Liberty’s Asia Pacific operations. The business has successfully brought together its separate retail and commercial general insurance underwriting operations in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and China, and is now operating as one Liberty licenced entity in each market. The unified businesses now trade under the “Liberty” brand in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia. Existing brands continue in Malaysia, India and China.

The Hong Kong licence consolidation completes today, which unifies the Liberty Insurance and Liberty Specialty Markets operations under a single insurance licence in Hong Kong. This follows several key regional changes that came into effect on 1 January 2026, including:
• Singapore – the completion of Liberty’s retail and commercial unification, now operating as Liberty Pte Limited;
• Malaysia – all general insurance operations now streamlined under Liberty General Insurance Berhad company; and
• China – renewal and new commercial (re)insurance business now transacted
under Liberty Insurance.

“2026 is a pivotal year for us across Asia Pacific. We’ve achieved our goal to streamline our general insurance operations as one Liberty in each market – creating a simpler, stronger organisation for our customers and partners,” said Matthew Jackson, President of Asia Pacific.

“Moving to the Liberty brand is also fundamental to simplifying the way we present to our agents, broker partners and clients. This is the same branding our Liberty Mutual parent team use in much of their TV advertising and marketing in the USA. We’re streamlining our market presence in Asia and delivering real benefits to our partners – including access to a broader product range, a bigger team with specialised expertise, and efficient service.”

Operating as one Liberty in each market enables us to offer one of the region’s most comprehensive ranges of general insurance products, spanning personal lines, commercial insurance and bespoke solutions for major construction projects, corporate clients and government entities.

The brand simplification reflects Liberty’s commitment to creating a more seamless experience for customers and distribution partners across the region, backed by the strength and stability of Liberty Mutual Insurance group, a Fortune Global 500 company with more than 40,000 employees in 27 countries and economies.
