Chaucer Group (‘Chaucer’), the global specialty (re)insurance group, today announces the appointment of Les Loh to the role chief executive officer Singapore, effective from 2nd March 2026, subject to regulatory approval. In his new role, Loh will report to Angus Milgate, global head of distribution. Loh succeeds Margaret To, who will transition to a consultancy role. In addition, Chaucer has appointed Dan Bryan as head of reinsurance Asia Pacific (APAC), who will take up his new role in Q2 2026, reporting into Loh.

Loh joins from Guy Carpenter where he held the role of CEO Southeast Asia and Korea. He brings with him more than 27 years of experience across broking and underwriting, having also held roles at AXIS Capital, notably as president, APAC, and Benfield, as a senior broker. He is a significant figure in the APAC market and his appointment reflects Chaucer’s ambition in the region.

Bryan has more than two decades of experience and joins from AXA XL Re, where he was head of Asia, reinsurance. Prior to this, he spent time at Aspen Insurance Group as head of property reinsurance and Guy Carpenter as senior vice president. In his new role, he will be responsible for the oversight of Chaucer’s APAC reinsurance operation as it looks to strengthen its offering in the region.

Richard Milner, CEO, said: “Chaucer places great importance on the APAC market and is committed to attracting talent with deep regional expertise and diverse experience to best support our clients. We are delighted to welcome Les and Dan to the team in Singapore. Their appointments strengthen Chaucer’s capabilities as we look ahead to the next phase of our growth.

“We would also like to thank Margaret for her outstanding contribution over the last 17 years. Her experience and expertise as a consultant will prove a tremendous resource for Les as he steps into the leadership role.”
