Haggie Partners’ advisory board

In 2016 Haggie Partners appointed three senior financial services specialists to sit on an advisory board. We invite them regularly to offer insight and governance in support of our development and strategy. The board is chaired by John Coldman, with members Angus Winther and John Whiter. These three wise men possess more than 100 years’ experience of building successful professional services businesses, notably in the financial services sector.

John Coldman

John Coldman is a non-executive director of Arthur J. Gallagher Co, having served as managing director of Aon Benfield Group and its predecessor Benfield Group since 1986. Prior to the creation of Benfield Greig, he had spent 18 years with Greig Fester Group.

John Whiter

John Whiter is a non-executive director of Ed, and spent 14 years as chief financial officer at Benfield Group. Prior to joining Benfield he was a partner (and ultimately a senior partner) at Neville Russell.

Angus Winther

Angus Winther spent 27 years working in the investment banking industry, primarily advising clients in the insurance and financial services industries.  He co-founded Lexicon Partners, a London based investment banking advisory firm, in 2000 and was closely involved in the leadership of that firm until it was acquired by Evercore in 2011.  He served as a senior advisor at Evercore until October 2016, when he left the firm to pursue other interests. His business interests include being a non-executive director of Ecclesiastical Insurance Group plc (a specialist insurance, broking and asset management group), Hiscox Syndicates Limited (a Lloyd’s managing agent) and Trinity Exploration and Production plc (an AIM listed oil and gas exploration and production company) as well as an advisory board member of Haggie Partners (a financial PR firm) and the Mako Group (a derivatives trading group).  He is also a trustee of several charities.
